Something's brewing: Manila Coffee Festival is set to return this March
Coffee lovers are sure to rejoice with this exciting news: the Manila Coffee Festival is set to make a comeback this March!
The much-awaited event that celebrates our local coffees, coffee growers, and coffee culture is scheduled to happen on March 17 to 19 at the MGBX Convention Hall at the Manila Mariott Hotel in Pasay City.
Guests can enjoy a wide array of irresistible activities such as workshops for making latte art, live coffee competitions, and discussions from the important figures that are making a change in Philippine coffee production and innovation.
It is definitely an immersive experience for coffee lovers and aspiring entrepreneurs as they'll have a chance to interact with exhibitors such as coffee growers, baristas, café and restaurant owners, experts and innovators in the industry, and more.
Tickets for the festival are available at PouchNATION, costing P300 for regular one-day passes and P1,800 for expresso passes. There is also a P200 discount for students, available onsite only with the provision of a valid ID.
The perks for the regular passes include access to over 80 exhibitor booths, live performances of local artists and demonstrations from coffee experts, a live art competition, free unlimited Philippine coffee, among others.
Meanwhile, the expresso pass has the same inclusions, but with an addition of having access to free unlimited coffee cocktails as well as the KapeTalks sessions, which are meaningful discussions with seasoned experts in the coffee business.
Manila Coffee Festival is an annual gathering that celebrates the role of coffee in "preserving cultural identity," while raising awareness on "mislabeled coffee."
"We aim for consumers to affiliate their local coffee experience with warm, good feelings, and memories. In the process, we hope to make connections between consumers and our local coffee heritage, and how coffee might come to have new social meaning to people," they said.
Meanwhile, Bonifacio Global City also has their own Coffee Festival that you can partake in. In this edition, they are combing the best of arts and biking culture, wherein you can enjoy coffee merchants, bike shops, and a number of art installations without breaking open your wallet.
The brands participating in the fesitivity include Elephant Grounds, harlan + holden Coffee, Single Origin Coffee & Tea, Malongo Atelier Barista, Coffee Lab, Pocofino, Luntian by Luna, Figaro, Paik’s Coffee, Supersam, Caravan Black, Twenty Four Bakeshop, and Tiger Sugar.
As for bikers, they can engage with shops such as R.O.X, adidas, 2Wheel Nation Cycling, Specialized Philippines, Built Cycles, Blocks, Passe, Everyday Camo, The Breakaway, Team ABC.
In the festival's coffee talk session, you can listen to rich discussions from the likes of Calibre Magazine Editor-in-Chief Carl Cunan, El Kapitan Coffee Owner and Operator Raymond So, and Coffee Commune Chief Extractor Rosario Juan, as well as an Outdoor Brewing Demo by Alex Aranzanso of Ten-Four Coffee by Overlandking.
The event will take place at the High Street South from March 18 to 19.
