Katrina Halili grieves death of non-showbiz partner Jeremy Guiab
Katrina Halili mourned the death of her non-showbiz partner Jeremy Guiab who succumbed to a heart attack at age 53.
On her Instagram account, the actress shared the devastating news of her loss as she posted a vague picture of a man facing a bright sun who is assumed to be her boyfriend.
"Ang daya mo love sabi mo aalagaan mo kami ni Katie, bakit iniwan mo kami," Katrina captioned the post.
Katie is the actress' 11-year-old daughter with her ex-boyfriend, singer Kris Lawrence.
While Katrina did not disclose the identity of her partner, Kim Atienza mentioned Jeremy's name as he also grieved over his passing in a separate Instagram post, which tagged the actress.
"Till we meet again dearest Jeremy. Your genius will be missed brother. We love you!" Kim wrote as he shared a picture of a mid-century modern set that the former Wao, Lanao Del Sur vice mayor created as a gift for him and his wife.
Other celebrities who gave their condolences to Katrina include Kris Bernal, Aiko Melendez, Jackie Lou Blanco, Kakai Bautista, Carla Abellana, and Camille Prats, among others.
In a tribute on Facebook, Quezon City councilor Don De Leon shared that Jeremy died of a heart attack at around 5:00 pm on Jan. 28. According to a separate post, his wake will be held at Arlington Memorial Chapels in Quezon City until Feb. 1.
"My best friend, my brother, my confidant and partner. Jeremy G. Guiab succumbed to a fatal heart attack at around 5:00 pm today. Together with his family, we ask for prayers, for his soul’s eternal rest with our Lord. A precious life gone too soon," Don wrote last Sunday.
Katrina first revealed that was in a relationship in an interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda back in July last year, but chose to keep details of her love life mostly under wraps from the public.
She shared, however, that Jeremy had been helping her take care of Katie, "Siya yung mas nagtuturo sa akin, kasi stubborn ako, di ba? Stubborn din yung anak ko. So medyo mahirap kaming dalawa. Minsan nawawalan ako ng pasensiya, siya yung mas kalmado. Tinutulungan niya ako talaga kay Katie."
