60th Baeksang Arts Awards set for May
The highly anticipated award-giving body in South Korea, Baeksang Arts Awards, has set the date and venue for this year's ceremony.
According to a report by Korean entertainment media outlet Soompi, the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards will take on May 7 at 5 p.m. KST (4 p.m. PH Time) at Coex Hall D. The ceremony will air live on JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC 4.
There has yet to be an announcement on how to stream this year's ceremony outside Korea. However, the previous ceremony can be streamed through Baeksang's official TikTok account and JTBC's social media accounts.
Moreover, the media outlet said that this year's nominees will be determined by surveying a panel of 60 industry experts.
The list of nominees will be announced on Monday, April 8, through the ceremony's website.
For this year, productions released between April 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024, will be eligible for nomination.
The Baeksang Arts Awards 2024 will give recognition to the Korean actors who have made a mark on the industry in the past year, as well as the films and television shows that have reached new heights in storytelling.
The awards show is one of Korea's three most prestigious award-giving bodies, recognizing excellent broadcast, cable, and streaming TV content, domestic films, and theatrical productions.
The 59th edition of Baeksang Arts Awards, which took place last April 28, was led by The Glory with seven nods, followed by Extraordinary Attorney Woo at six and My Liberation Notes at five.
