American actress Hayden Panettiere has passed away at the age of 36, ABC News reported.

"It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her—and to the millions who watched her onscreen," her father, Skip Panettiere, said in a statement to the outlet.

Her family has also asked for privacy as they "take time to process this unimaginable loss."

Details surrounding the actress' death have yet to be shared.

Panettiere started as a child star, starring in soap operas, including One Life to Live at 5 years old and Guiding Light at 7.

She also lent her voice to the 1998 animation A Bug's Life, for which she earned nominations from the Young Artist Awards and Grammy Awards.

The actress continued to grow her career in TV and film, starring in Heroes (2006-2011) as Claire Bennet, three Scream films as Kirby Reed, and Nashville (2012-2018) as Juliette Barnes.

Her role in Heroes won her Best Lead Actress in a TV Series at the Young Artist Awards, Best Supporting Actress on TV at the Saturn Awards, and Choice TV Actress: Drama at the Teen Choice Awards.

The actress also earned nods from the Golden Globe Awards, People's Choice Awards, and Critics' Choice Television Awards for Nashville.

Earlier in May, she released a memoir titled This Is Me: A Reckoning, where she came out as bisexual and opened up about the pressures of Hollywood, her struggles with addiction, her experience with postpartum depression after the birth of her daughter with boxer Wladimir Klitschko, and the sudden death of her brother Jansen in 2023.
