Bank robber arrested after falling into trash bin during escape attempt
A bank robber was arrested after falling into a recycling bin while trying to escape from the police.
According to a report by CNN International, the suspect identified as Tristan Heidl fell from the ceiling in the middle of his escape attempt from the bank heist. He landed in a trash container situated at a drive-thru lane, where the authorities were waiting for him.
His backpack, which had items for construction, also dropped to the floor.
Heidl has been charged with breaking and entering, possession of criminal tools, and safecracking.
CNN International reported that he “waived his preliminary hearing and the cause was bound over to the grand jury in the Erie County Common Pleas Court.”
Police chief Terry Graham also told the media outlet that Heidl has been temporarily released on a $50,000 (P2.7 million) bond.
