PPOP CON 2023 organizers postpones event, citing logistical concerns
PPOP CON 2023 has been postponed a week before its scheduled run.
On March 9, the organizers of Pinoy Pop Convention and Concert (PPOP CON) 2023 announced on their social media pages the postponement of their two-day event, citing logistics as a concern.
Scheduled supposedly on March 18 and 19 at the New Frontier Theater and Araneta Coliseum, the organizers said that a new date will be announced "very soon."
“We deeply apologize to all fans who have been looking forward to this event,” they wrote.
“PPOPCON is dedicated to creating the ultimate fan experience and welcoming new fans to the community,” they continued.
“Our commitment in helping build the P-POP community grow the genre by providing this platform will continue to be our focus as we prepare for the upcoming event.”
The organizers said that the old ticket will still be deemed valid on the new date. “For those who already have their tickets, hold onto it as it will still be valid on the new date. Should you have questions and concerns, please email [email protected].”
Meanwhile, fans expressed their dismay, with others having already booked flights and accommodations to attend the much-anticipated event.
"I'm disappointed on how lousy and unprofessional those ppopcon organizers are!" one netizen said.
This is so unacceptable. How about those international fans who flew all the way to the Philippines just to watch PPOP Con? Some are already in the Philippines. Do u know how much those flights cost?

One even said that the organizers should offer refund as not everybody will be available on the "new dates."
Others were concerned about "establishing the foundation of ppop."
"I understand na ang concert is still a business and ang target is to get profit our of the costs pero we are still establishing the foundation of ppop and this act is not helping in any way," said one disappointed fan.
This year’s convention will feature homegrown artists SB19, BINI, ALAMAT, G22, Dione, 1st.One, and HORI7ON, among others.
