Binibining Pilipinas crowns this year's new queens
Make way for your new queens, Philippines! Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. has just crowned the four winners of the 58th Binibining Pilipinas pageant at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on August 1.
The three-hour coronation night, which began on July 31, saw 40 Filipinas showcasing their beauty, brains, and confidence for a chance to win the pageant's elusive titles and represent the country in international competitions.
Emerging as Bb. Pilipinas International is Cebu City's Nicole Borromeo. The 21-year-old beauty queen inherited the crown from Bb. Pilipinas International 2021 Hannah Arnold.
During the question and answer portion, Borromeo was asked how she would rate herself as a Filipino citizen. The beauty queen, answered, "I'd like myself a good 8, because I know there is always room to improve. There' so much I don't know and there's so much I'm willing to learn and I'm hoping to do that with you."
Borromeo has been a familiar face in the pageant scene, having won Miss Millennial Philippines in 2019 and representing Central Visayas in Miss Teen Philippines in the same year.
The newly crowned Bb. Pilipinas International was also awarded Miss Careline during the pageant's coronation night. She will represent the Philippines in the 60th Miss International competition to be held on December 13 in Tokyo, Japan.
Other candidates that will represent the country in global competitions are Tacloban's Chelsea Fernandez as Miss Globe, Eastern Samar's Gabrielle Marsiano as Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental, and Laguna's Roberta Angela Tamandong as Bb. Pilipinas Grand International.
TV host and Angono Rizal's bet Nicole Budol finished her journey as first runner-up, while Cainta Rizal's Stacey Gabriel won second runner-up.
