What to expect at KapeCon 2025

Published Oct 10, 2025 3:14 pm

You don’t have to know the difference between arabica and robusta to have a blast at KapeCon—it’s so much more than just a gathering for coffee fanatics! KapeCon 2025 is taking over Paseo de Roxas Avenue in Makati City on Oct. 11–12, and it’s sure to be a hit.

The festival is the flagship event of the Coffee Home Brewers Facebook community, promising an immersive experience, showcasing over 50 booths of local roasters, hands-on classes, panel discussions, and more.

To start, witness the ultimate amateur brew-off at The KapeCon 2025 Latte Art Showdown happening on Day 1 at 1 p.m. This competition is open to hobbyists, and it’s only P250 to join. You can also catch the Kape't Kamay Brewdown, where duos must literally brew together while holding hands.

Masa Ceramics Studio is joining the event, bringing brand new ceramics and merch. They are also hosting hands-on workshops on both days. You can join a Pottery Workshop to get your hands dirty and learn how to shape your own mug or vessel. Alternatively, try a Coffee Painting Workshop with Rev Cruz on Day 2 at 3 p.m., and show your artistic side.

Learn about coffee and beyond

If you've ever wondered how your favorite coffee shop started or what it takes to roast a perfect batch, catch the panel discussions in the Espresso and Latte Lounge and meet the people behind some of your favorite brands.

On Oct. 11 at 11 a.m., join “The First Crack: An Expert Panel on Launching Your Roasting Business.” The panel, featuring an all-star lineup including Jancy Kilayko of Primal Brew, Choi Kapunan of Good Karma, Kim Co of Satori, Mark Villagarcia of El Union, and Jaycee Gal of Bodega Coffee PH, will cover the intricacies of the coffee roasting business—from sourcing beans and equipment needs to mastering flavor profiles and scaling a startup into a successful roastery.

Then on Oct. 12 at 5:30 p.m., Jamie Arcega of Decimal, Richellee Labrusca of Deuces, Alto Tanchanco of Allo, and Mischa Yason of Couch Club will cover challenges, triumphs, and essential tips for starting and succeeding in the highly competitive coffee shop scene at the “Ask the Owners: An Open Forum on Cafe Startups and Success.”

Level up your gear

At KapeCon 2025, you can also explore a marketplace with over 50 booths featuring local roasters, cafés, and equipment distributors.

You can also join Hands-on Classes and the ICC Brewing Basics for Home Brewers sessions for all skill levels. Whether you want to master the French Press or dive into pour-over techniques, there’s a session to guide you.

The organizers have also prepared limited-edition goodies that sell out fast, like blind boxes.

Only 100 of these curated CHB Mystery Boxes will be available, and the items inside are well worth the selling price! Each box includes limited edition KapeCon merch, multiple bags of coffee beans, equipment, and other amazing gifts from their "brewdol buddies."

To get one, purchase a box on their website and pick up your box at KapeCon 2025.

There are 50 Black Boxes—which come with more items and the chance to draw higher ticket items like a free SCA class from BCAA—and 50 Orange Boxes—a more affordable option.

Box buyers receive exclusive entry into the lucky draw to win even more high-ticket items, including limited-edition Bialetti mokapots, MHW-3Bomber items, drippers, and Steepshots. You also get free entry to the auction lounge.

KapeCon 2025 is happening on Oct. 11-12 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Entrance is free.
