Malacañang announced that US President Donald Trump will visit the Philippines to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed the news during the press briefing on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

“It is confirmed. Pero ‘yung details siguro hindi po sa akin manggagaling,” Castro said.

It remains unclear whether the visit will also coincide with the signing of the Pax Silica initiative, which is set to be launched in New Clark City. The government had earlier been reported to be eyeing a November launch.

Trump visited the Philippines in 2017 during the administration of then-President Rodrigo Duterte and met with him during the ASEAN Summit.

It has also yet to be announced when Trump will arrive in the country.
