LOOK: Kokey appears in Netflix's 'Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire' promo
The crossover we didn’t know we need. Netflix Philippines released a parody video of American science fantasy movie Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire that featured the country’s very own sci-fi icon Kokey.
The video featured scenes from the streaming giant’s new No. 1 movie, while the beloved Filipino alien takes center stage.
“Alien namataang sasali sa rebolusyon. Ang tanong, ok ka ba Kokey?” Netflix Philippines said.
Kokey was sporting his signature red hoodie and striped shirt in one scene, and in another was flexing his supposedly toned body.
“Okey ka, Kokey?” a character supposedly asks the brown fellow, to which he replies, “Korekorekorekok.”
Rebel Moon is set in a fictitious universe controlled by a fascist regime called The Motherworld. While a former soldier Kora tries to escape her past by living as a simple farmer in a moon called The Veldt, she assembles an army as The Motherworld tries to conquer her new home.
Its ensemble cast includes Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Charlie Hunnam and Anthony Hopkins.
Rebel Moon is directed and co-written by Zack Snyder of Dawn of the Dead and Justice League fame.
Kokey, meanwhile, was released in 1997, with Mahal portraying the character.
