The tallest and shortest women in the world finally met in London to mark Guinness World Records Day this year.

According to a post on the GWR website, Jyoti Amge and Rumeysa Gelgi, the shortest and tallest in the world, respectively, enjoyed some afternooon tea at The Savoy Hotel in London, where they talked about their love for beauty, fashion, and self-care.

"Meeting Jyoti for the first time was wonderful," Rumeysa said, describing her as "the most gorgeous lady."

"I was waiting to meet her for a long time," she added.

"I’m used to looking up and seeing people taller than me, but I was so happy to look up today and see the world’s tallest woman," said Jyoti.

Rumeysa shared that there were times they found it hard to make eye contact with each other, "but it was great."

Rumeysa and Jyoti bond in London.

"Guinness World Records is all about celebrating differences," said Guinness World Records Editor-in-Chief Craig Glenday. "By bringing together these two amazing, iconic women, they can share their perspectives on life with each other and, also, with us."

Rumeysa stands at 215.16 cm (7 ft 0.7 in), while Jyoti is at 62.8 cm (2 ft 0.7 in). The gap between their height is 152.36 cm (five feet).

When she was 17, Rumeysa was named the tallest female teenager living. She was confirmed to be the tallest woman living in 2021. She has Weaver syndrome, a rare genetic condition that causes excessive growth in the bone.

She also holds other records such as the largest hands on a woman at 24.93 cm (9.81 in), the longest back on a living person (female) at 59.90 cm (23.58 in), and the longest ears on a person (female).

Jyoti, meanwhile, was recognized as the shortest teenager when she was 15 years old in 2009. She was named the shortest woman living in 2011, with a height of 62.8 centimeters (2 ft 3⁄4 in). The 30-year-old also became the shortest actress ever after portraying Ma Petite on American Horror Story: Freak Show.
