Heavy rainfall to be expected in parts of Luzon, Visayas until Monday amid Typhoon Uwan
Heavy rainfalls are expected across parts of Luzon from Sunday to Monday, as Typhoon Uwan approaches.
According to the latest bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration, Typhoon Uwan continues to "rapidly intensify" as it approaches the Philippine Sea, east of Bicol Region.
The typhoon is forecast to track west-northwest throughout the weekend, before shifting to a more northwesterly direction by Monday, Nov. 10.
Its eye may pass near Catanduanes Sunday morning, with a potential landfall expected over southern Isabela or northern Aurora sometime between Sunday evening and Monday early morning.
PAGASA noted that there's a growing chance of a slight southward track shift, which could bring a direct hit or landfall over Catanduanes.
Corresponding wind signals have also been raised in parts of Luzon and Visayas.
