Here's how you can send help to the victims of Tropical Storm Kristine
Severe Tropical Storm Kristine has brought heavy rain and strong winds, mainly affecting most of Luzon and Visayas, and a portion of Mindanao.
Kristine is expected to make landfall in Isabela or Aurora on Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
As Kristine continues to cause havoc in the country, the bayanihan of the Filipinos remain alive as communities are opening fundraising initiatives to aid those who are affected by the calamity.
If you have the means to help out and join in the Bayanihan, here’s a list of organizations and donation drives where you can offer help.
PhilSTAR Media Group's Operation Damayan
Philstar Media Group, through Operation Damayan, is now accepting donations to help out the victims of Tropical Storm Kristine.
Donations may be deposited to Philstar Daily Inc./Operation Damayan’s Metrobank Savings with account number 151-7-15152422-9. After donating, email the deposit slip to [email protected].
ABS-CBN Foundation's Sagip Kapamilya
ABS-CBN Foundation, through Sagip Kapamilya, is also accepting cash donations to help the residents affected by Kristine.
It's also accepting in-kind donations, like easy-to-open canned goods like sardines or corned beef, ready-to-eat snacks like biscuits, and rice, as well as hygiene kits comprising shampoo, bath soap, laundry soap, deodorant, toothpaste, and toothbrush.
The items may dropped off at its warehouse on Examiner Street along West Triangle in Quezon City.
GMA's Kapuso Foundation
GMA's Kapuso Foundation posted its bank accounts for donors.
It's also accepting donations through money transfer and e-wallet, as well as credit card.
Angat Buhay's Angat Bayanihan
Former vice president Leni Robredo said Angat Bayanihan Network, the volunteer program of her nonprofit Angat Buhay, is doing relief operations in areas outside Naga.
She shared account details and QR codes of their partner organization, Tanging Yaman Foundation.
Tindog Albayano
The Youth Ambassador of Albay posted on social media as they called for donations to help those affected by the tropical storm. This group is under the supervision of the Office of the Governor of Albay province.
Those who wish to help can give in-kind and monetary donations. For monetary donations, you may send via GCash and PayMaya. As for in-kind donations, you may drop them off at the Governor’s guest house located near Bicol University.
They post updates on the donation amount that they received. As of 12 noon, they have collected P6,161 monetary donations.
Bangon Naga
Kaya Natin Movement, alongside the Jesse M. Robredo Foundation, is also calling for donations to help the communities affected in Naga City and Camarines Sur.
They are accepting monetary donations through BPI, UnionBank, and GCash. Do note that GCash donations have a transfer fee.
Angat Buhay
Angat Buhay Foundation accepts in-kind donations that can be dropped off at their office in Quezon City.
They prioritize easy-to-eat food items, bottled water, hygiene kits, and other essential items like flashlights and batteries, power banks, detergent powder, blankets, and towels. They added that they prioritize purchasing easily perishable food through their local partners.
The Kindness Station
Sorsogon is one of the provinces located in the Bicol region that was affected by Tropical Storm Kristine. The Kindness Station, a non-profit organization based in the area, is calling for donations to give to their fellow Sorsoganons.
They are accepting both monetary and in-kind donations. For monetary it can be sent to 09940433200 via GCash, and for in-kind ones, they are looking for clean and dry clothes, food and water, and hygiene kits.
Tulong Kabataan
Tulong Kabataan PH, through its local center in Bicol, is calling for donations. They are accepting monetary donations via UnionBank and GCash through these QR codes.
Tulong Kabataan PH is a youth-led non-profit organization that focuses on community-based disaster management.
Project Wings PH
Project Wings PH, a youth-based non-profit organization based in Sorsogon, is also open to donations to help the families affected by Typhoon Kristine in Bulan, Sorsogon.
They are accepting monetary donations through the QR codes via BPI, BDO, GCash, and PayMaya.
They also partnered with an individual who started a drawing for a cause initiative to help out the victims of the typhoon.
Philippine Red Cross
The Philippine Red Cross is calling for donations to support the ongoing rescue and relief operation of the team.
Those interested can donate it via BDO, Metrobank, Security Bank, BPI, and Asia United Bank under the account name of the Philippine Red Cross in all banks.
Bicol University
The student councils of Bicol University are calling for monetary and in-kind donations.
They are asking for clothes, blankets, hygiene kits, food, and water for in-kind donations. Those interested in donating may drop it off at the University Student Council office inside the University. Monetary donations are available via GCash through the QR code.
The student council posts on social media where the donations are used, such as using it for meal distributions. They also post an update about the monetary donations that they received.
