Market! Market! mall in BGC to undergo major transformation

Market! Market! is getting a makeover.

According to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), the shopping mall will be redeveloped into a mixed-use development as its lease will end in 2027.

BCDA President and Chief Executive Officer Joshua M. Bingcang said that since Market! Market! is their "single last big property in BGC," they want to "get [its] maximum value" after its redevelopment.

He added that the redevelopment of the 9.7-hectare property will be built with easy access to public transportation, aligning with BGC's focus on transit-oriented development.

Bingcang also said that the terms for the invitation for bidding will be published soon, adding that the investment should "be at least P30 billion."

Market! Market!'s location is considered "prime" as there will also be a Metro Manila Subway station in the area—the Senate-DepEd (Department of Education) Station.

“This is very prime. But right now, it is being occupied by the Navy. So, we will clear out the navy first,” he said. 

Market! Market! in Taguig opened in 2004 and has since been a go-to destination for "themed bazaars, a hawker's market, and a bounty of outlet and bargain stores."
