Batman will join Hollywood’s long list of fictional characters on the Walk of Fame on Thursday, Sept. 26.

In a press release, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that the iconic DC character is the first superhero to receive a star on the famous landmark.

“[T]he Dark Knight has stood as a symbol of determination, courage, and justice to generations of fans for more than 85 years,” read the statement.

“Batman is recognized across the globe thanks to his portrayal in universally beloved comics, TV shows, cartoons, and movies,” it continued.

The superhero will be honored with the 2,790th star in the Motion Pictures category, where famous fictional characters, such as Mickey Mouse, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Snoopy, have dotted the sidewalk.

DC’s president, publisher, and chief creative officer, Jim Lee, will attend the special ceremony with senior vice president and general manager Anne DePies.

Adjudicator Michael Empric will also be present to award Batman the Guinness World Record title for the first superhero with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star.

His star will be at 6764 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Guinness World Records Museum.

Writer Bill Finger and artist Bob Kane first developed Batman and debuted the iconic superhero in Detective Comics No. 27 in May 1939.

He has been portrayed by several movie actors, such as Adam West, Michael Keaton, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, Kevin Conroy, and Robber Pattinson.
