Nadine Lustre and Andi Eigenmann among celebs calling help for Siargao amid Typhoon Odette

Super typhoon Odette has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and made landfall in Siargao and Liloan, Panaon Island, among others.

With mass evacuations in place for the severe typhoon, a number of celebrities who have resided in the island of Siargao are calling for aid for those affected by the storm.

Nadine Lustre, who recently revealed that she had bought a home in the island, took to Instagram stories to call attention to the nearing storm.

"Praying for everyone's safety," the star wrote with a screencap video of Odette. She also shared a post from Pawssion Project urging citizens not to leave behind their pets when evacuating.

Meanwhile, Siargao-based couple Andi Eigenmann and Philmar Alipayo have also been sending updates from the island.

After reposting shots of the landfall, Alipayo shared on 3pm that electricity and signal had run out on the island.

Eigenmann had also shared that they had a cancelled flight amid the storm surge and urged others to pray for those affected.

"Cancelled flight going home due to super typhoon Odette. Receiving updates abt current damages happening in our home but also just very worried about our loved ones on the island," Eigenmann captioned on Instagram Stories. "Hope this passes soon."

Meanwhile, PAGASA has issued storm surge warnings to the low-lying coastal areas of Central Visayas, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, and several localities in the northern portion of Palawan including Calamian, Cuyo and Cagayancillo Islands, Antique, the southern portions of Samar and Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Misamis Oriental.
