'Pusuan or Laruan' creator calls for kindness amid viral content
Following viral episodes of Pusuan or Laruan with Marion Aunor, host Marion Aunor urged viewers to engage respectfully.
In a Facebook post, the Filipino singer-songwriter thanked fans for their support, saying, "A lot of you have been sharing that you've been enjoying our content with your family and friends, and our team truly appreciates your continued support."
She stated they had planned to release a statement and felt this was the right moment to address the hate some of their contestants have been receiving.
"We just wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that the participants in our show are real people who are there to find love, make friends, and step out of their comfort zones. This experience can be vulnerable, and as such, we ask that we all show kindness and respect in the comments and on social media as a whole," she wrote.
Marion reminded her followers that the content they make is "not scripted" and that the contestants are "sharing their personal lives with viewers in hopes of finding meaningful connections."
She said that the clips are intended to foster healthy dialogue and encourage learning from different viewpoints.
"The clips uploaded by the show are also meant to highlight moments that foster healthy conversation, allowing viewers to respectfully share their opinions, engage with different perspectives, and even learn from others, rather than focusing on negativity and hate," Marion noted.
"Let's create a space where everyone feels supported and valued so that we can continue creating more fun episodes for you," she reminded.

Recently, a contestant named Aly became a hot topic online after a spliced video from their part in the show was uploaded online.
Aly popped hers after meeting school instructor Ian. “I’m an Englishera... halata,” she explained. “Baka ma-overwhelm ka sa’kin, at baka ma-overwhelm din ako sa’yo ‘pag straight Tagalog.” While Ian introduced himself in English, Aly opted out when he began explaining his red flags mostly in Filipino.
The spliced video invited the rage of Filipino users, with many arguing that it wasn’t enough of a dealbreaker and noting that Aly wasn’t much of an “Englishera” to begin with.
Another guy named Josh went viral for describing himself as a "Golden Retriever boy" who wanted a "Golden Retriever gal."
Spliced segments of the video were shared on social media, with some users bashing Josh for the label.
Both contestants have since released their statements.
