Kiko Barzaga surrenders following cyber libel complaint

Cavite 4th District Rep. Kiko Barzaga has surrendered to the Dasmariñas Component City Police Station following a cyber libel complaint against him. 

On April 13, the Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 147 released an arrest warrant for the neophyte lawmaker, which accused him of eight counts of cyber libel. The bail for his release is set at P48,000 for each count.

Earlier in January, business tycoon Enrique Razon Jr. filed two counts of cyber libel against Barzaga over his posts alleging members of the National Unity party accepted bribes from the billionaire to support former House Speaker Martin Romualdez in the 2025 midterm elections. 

Barzaga has been suspended in the House of Representatives since December 2025 because of his social media posts that were deemed offensive and seditious. He previously joked about Batasang Pambansa being burned down.

His suspension was extended for two more months in February.
