NUSTAR celebrates its fourth anniversary through an evening of fashion, culture, and purpose
NUSTAR Resort Cebu marked its fourth anniversary with “WOVEN: Four Years of Elevated Moments,” an evening where fashion, culture, and community came together in celebration of Cebuano artistry and purpose.
Held on May 8 at the integrated resort’s grand lobby, the anniversary celebration gathered distinguished guests, media partners, VIPs, and stakeholders for an immersive evening centered on craftsmanship, collaboration, and giving back to the community.
At the heart of the event was a special fashion showcase featuring celebrated Filipino designers Philip Rodriguez and Bree Esplanada, who unveiled exclusive couture pieces created using handwoven tapestries sourced from Cebu’s weaving communities. Blending heritage craftsmanship with contemporary design, the collection paid tribute to the artistry of local weavers and the enduring richness of Filipino culture.
The evening also featured an exclusive silent auction of the one-of-a-kind couture pieces presented during the showcase, with proceeds supporting educational and cultural initiatives for Tabor Hill College, the beneficiary partner of the event.
Adding elegance and emotion to the celebration was a live performance by the 20-piece orchestra of Tabor Hill College, whose musical performances serenaded guests throughout the evening. Their participation underscored the deeper purpose behind WOVEN: celebrating talent, preserving culture, and creating opportunities for the next generation.
One of the evening’s key highlights was the ceremonial cake-cutting led by NUSTAR executives alongside Fr. Jose Conson, principal of Tabor Hill College, together with designers Philip Rodriguez and Bree Esplanada. Symbolizing four years of growth, partnerships, and shared milestones between NUSTAR and the Cebuano community, the ceremony featured a grand centerpiece cake crafted in-house by NUSTAR’s award-winning culinary team led by Executive Chef Martin Rebolledo and Executive Pastry Chef Rolando Macatangay. Designed to serve nearly 300 guests, the cake stood as both a culinary showpiece and a fitting tribute to an evening dedicated to artistry, collaboration, and elevated moments.
In his message during the celebration, NUSTAR’s Chief Operating Officer, Sean Knights, emphasized the importance of community-driven partnerships and creating long-term impact. “Our partnership with Tabor Hill College reflects that commitment—to invest in the people and the future of Cebu. Because what we build here only matters if it grows with the community around us.”
WOVEN: Four Years of Elevated Moments reflects NUSTAR’s continuing commitment to creating meaningful experiences that go beyond hospitality, bringing together luxury, culture, and community in ways that leave a lasting impact.
