‘Riverdale’ actor Ryan Grantham ‘regrets’ murdering his mother

Ryan Grantham made headlines last year when he got sentenced to life in prison for killing his mother. Now, he regrets what he did.
Giving an update on the Riverdale actor’s situation in prison, his lawyer Chris Johnson told entertainment site TMZ: “Mr. Grantham recently advised me that he’s doing well, getting the help he needs, and has gained some insight into what happened and why. He regrets what he did to his mother.”
In June 2022, CBC reported that he shot his 64-year-old mother at the back of her head while the latter was playing the piano in their home in March. He also took some videos where he confessed to the murder and showed his parent’s dead body.
Two psychiatric reports referenced in court showed that Grantham had the urge to commit violence and kill himself due to clinical depression. He allegedly decided to end the life of his mother “to spare her from seeing the violence he intended to commit.”
E! News stated in a September 2022 report that Grantham is serving a life sentence for killing his own mom in 2020 and will not be eligible for parole for 14 years.
Johnson told E! News that Grantham has “worked really hard to turn his life around” after his arrest.
"He's received a lot of psychological assistance and he has struggled with what he's done and facing that, but he hopes to be able to dedicate the rest of his life to making amends," Johnson said.
