Attention, Yeolmaes: The Cherry Prince is finally debuting as a solo artist!

In a social media post, SM Entertainment announced that EXO's Chanyeol is set to drop his solo album in August, marking his official debut as a solo artist.

According to K-entertainment website Soompi, the K-pop idol's solo debut "is currently in the final stages of preparation."

Aside from an album, the 31-year-old South Korean rapper will also hold a solo tour dubbed City-scape. It will take place on Sept. 6 and 7 at the Blue Square Mastercard Hall in Seoul, South Korea.

Those who are planning to go to Korea and catch the live show can reserve tickets through the Interpark Ticketing website starting Aug. 8 at 8 p.m.

Further details on his upcoming album and tour will be announced at a later date.

In December 2023, Chanyeol expressed his desire to release his first solo album at a press conference for his fan meet in the Philippines.

"I actually have done a lot of projects and I actually have different projects in the future as well, but I think I haven't shown myself as a solo artist a lot so I would like to release a solo album if I could," he said at the time.

Chanyeol debuted as a K-pop idol under boy group EXO in 2012. He is also part of the group's sub-unit, EXO-SC, with Sehun.

Aside from singing, he's also known for his roles in various films and series, such as The Box, Missing 9, and Memories of the Alhambra alongside Hyun Bin and Park Shin-hye, among others.
