PBA to offer P49 tickets for opening of Governor’s Cup season 49 on Aug. 18
In celebration of the 49th season of the Governor’s Cup, PBA will sell tickets at P49 each for the opening day on Sunday, Aug. 18.
Re-elected Chairman Ricky Vargas announced on Wednesday, Aug. 14 that tickets for PBA’s season 49 opening are priced at P49 each for seats in the upper box section and above.
“Tickets will be 49 pesos for everybody who would like to come and watch the opening day,” he said, as captured in a video by One Sports.
The opening day will take place on Sunday, Aug. 18, 5 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Last year, the ticket prices ranged from P45 for general admissions seats to P735 for VIP seats.
This year’s team lineup includes TNT Tropang Giga coached by Chot Reyes; Joseph Uichico’s NLEX Road Warriors, Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots led by Chito Victolero; San Miguel Beermen with head coach Jorge Gallent; Tim Cone’s Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel; Rain or Shine Elasto Painters headed by Yeng Guiao; and new Philippine Cup champion Meralco Bolts; among others.
This season will have games every day except Mondays and will have the 12 teams separated into two groups.
