Korean travel influencer dies after falling at Mongolian volcano while taking photos
A Korean travel influencer in her 20s died after falling while taking photos at a volcano in Mongolia.
The Korea Times reported that the tragedy happened at the Uran Togoo Volcano in late August.
Per the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the woman, known as Ms. A, lost her footing and fell while capturing photos on the volcano’s edge.
Officials believe a sudden gust of wind may have caused her to lose balance.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
According to The Korea Times, Uran Togoo Volcano is a dormant site popular among tourists. It's known for its striking crater that measures between 500 and 600 meters in diameter, and is around 50 to 60 meters deep.
The location, which has an elevation of 1,680 meters, attracts hikers and travelers visiting the nearby Khuvsgul region.
