Sara Duterte in Singapore for ‘personal health management’
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte confirmed today that she flew to Singapore Tuesday, April 6.
“I am on leave from April 6-10, 2021. I have a travel authority to Singapore from the DILG. The reason is personal health management,” she said in a statement.
“All protocols to return to Davao City including RT-PCR testing and 14-day quarantine have all been pre-arranged,” she added.
Duterte reportedly flew from Davao to Manila and then Singapore yesterday. Davao City is under GCQ (General Community Quarantine) while NCR and surrounding provinces are under ECQ (Enhanced Community Quarantine) as the country is experiencing a surge in COVID cases and deaths. Yesterday, DOH logged 382 COVID deaths and last Friday more than 15,000 new cases, both due to “technical issue.”
GMA News reported that Duterte flew from Manila via Singapore Airlines and was “accompanied by one of her children, a nanny and a member of the Presidential Security Group.”
Duterte did not disclose the nature of her medical trip. Last year she also went on medical leave for a week, from Sept. 28 to Oct. 5.
