Apple launches new app for sports fans
Tech giant Apple has introduced its newest app for sports fans: Apple Sports.
The free app gives updates on real-time scores and stats, according to Apple’s website.
It also lets users check upcoming games, explore play-by-play information, review team stats and lineup details, and see live betting odds.
Users would be updated on the following leagues:
- Major League Soccer (MLS)
- National Basketball Association (NBA)
- National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) basketball (men’s and women’s)
- National Hockey League (NHL)
- Bundesliga
- LaLiga
- Liga MX
- Ligue 1
- Premier League
- Serie A
Apple said more leagues would be available over time, including Major League Baseball (MLB), National Football League (NFL), National Collegiate Athletic Association Football (NCAAF), National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), and Women's National BAsketball Association (WNBA) for their upcoming seasons.
Users may customize their scoreboards by following their favorite teams, tournaments, and leagues.
They can also go to the Apple TV app to watch live games from Apple and connected streaming apps.
Apple Sports will also seamlessly sync with favorites selected within the My Sports experience, including in the Apple TV app and Apple News.
To date, Apple Sports is available to download in the App Store in the U.S., the U.K., and Canada. Languages include English, French, and Spanish.
iPhone models running iOS 17.2 or higher may run the app.
There’s no announcement yet when it will become available in the Philippines.
