Megaworld celebrates 35 years with 35 townships this year

By KATHERINE MAGSANOC Published Jun 18, 2024 9:30 am

Over the last 35 years, Megaworld has successfully established itself as the leading developer of integrated urban townships, integrated lifestyle communities, and lifestyle estates in the Philippines. Today, Megaworld is present in more than 30 cities and municipalities across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, spanning 7,000 hectares of land all over the Philippines.

Of its 32 townships in the country today, 11 are in Metro Manila, 14 are in other parts of Luzon, six are in Visayas, and one is in Mindanao.

Within the next five years, Megaworld is also looking into further expanding its township footprint across the country, particularly in key growth areas. By the end of 2024, the company will already have reached 35 townships, with the new ones expected to again transform new areas into bustling business and lifestyle destinations.

Township developments

Megaworld’s biggest development to date is Twin Lakes, a 1,200-hectare tourism township in Laurel, Batangas. The company also cemented itself as a prime developer in Cavite, where it has the most number of townships in one province with five, so far: Suntrust Ecotown in Tanza, Arden Botanical Estate in the Trece Martires-Tanza border, Maple Grove in General Trias, Sherwood Hills in Trece Martires, and Southwoods City, which is partly in Carmona, Cavite.

Then there is Northwin Global City township in the municipalities of Marilao and Bocaue; an entrepreneur’s dream location.

Outside Luzon, Megaworld has three townships in Panay Island: Iloilo Business Park in Iloilo City, Santa Barbara Heights beside Iloilo International Airport, and Boracay Newcoast in Boracay.

In Negros Occidental, there is Northill Gateway in the boundaries of Talisay and Bacolod, and The Upper East, which lies east of Bacolod.

In Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, there is The Mactan Newtown. And down in Mindanao stands the Davao Park District in Lanang, Davao City, a township co-developed with Megaworld’s wholly-owned subsidiary Suntrust Properties Inc.
