Catherine Camilon's alleged policeman lover in 'general denial' on her reported disappearance

The policeman who’s the alleged lover of Batangas beauty queen Catherine Camilon is in “general denial” about her reported disappearance, an official from the regional office of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said.

In an interview with Radyo5, CIDG Calabarzon Regional Chief Jacinto Malinao Jr. said Allan De Castro is under restricted custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Calabarzon. De Castro is not allowed to leave and is “readily available” for further investigation since he’s in active duty.

“Maliban sa pag-conduct namin ng interview sessions with him, ang nakuha po namin ay puro general denial at nasa duty siya ng time na ‘yun,” Malinao said, adding De Castro gave the same answers to his provincial director at PNP Batangas.

"Ganoon din po, general denial, but kami naman ay hindi naniniwala ng ganoon,” Malinao said, adding their investigation is still ongoing.

Malinao said De Castro was formerly assigned to Batangas as the deputy officer of the drug enforcement unit in the province.

De Castro, who has a wife and two kids, is allegedly in a relationship with Camilon, who hails from Tuy, based on the accounts of her sister Chin-Chin and her fellow beauty queen.

“Mag-boyfriend po itong dalawa,” Malinao said.

De Castro was also allegedly hurting Camilon, according to Malinao, citing Chin-Chin and the fellow beauty queen's statements.

"Ang pinakakritikal na nakita nating motibo dito ay ‘yung sinabi sa statement na ito pong biktima, itong si Catherine, ay nagsumbong sa asawa ni Major de Castro na ito ay may babae,” Malinao said.

Camilon was supposed to meet with De Castro on the day she was reported missing, on Oct. 12.

De Castro, his personal driver and bodyguard, and two others are facing kidnapping and illegal detention complaints.

Camilon was last spotted in a shopping mall in Lemery hours before she was reported missing. She, however, last told her mother, Rosario, that she was at a gasoline station in Bauan.

The beauty queen said she’d go to Batangas City for a meeting with Balisong Channel, an online media company where she was a former talent. But Balisong Channel said she didn't visit its office and was last there on Dec. 13, 2021.

Camilon joined Miss Grand Philippines last July, during which Nikki De Moura of Cagayan de Oro won the crown.

Aside from being a beauty queen, Camilon is also a public school teacher in Tuy.
