Miss Universe PH announces Top 5 contestants of swimsuit challenge

The Miss Universe Philippines Organization (MUPH) unveiled the top five delegates of its swimsuit challenge on Sunday, May 5.

The top five candidates are Dia Mate (Cavite), Patricia Bianca Tapia (Hawaii), Alexie Mae Brooks (Iloilo), Ahtisa Manalo (Quezon Province), and Jet Hammond (Southern California).

In a Facebook post, the MUPH organization said that the winners were determined purely by votes from the MUPH app, adding that the top winner in every challenge will get an automatic spot in the finals.

"The winners were determined purely by votes, so remember to VOTE for your favorites in all our challenges! The top winner in every challenge will get an automatic spot at the Finals," the caption read. 

To vote, download the Miss Universe Philippines app and then go to the "Challenge Vote" tab. There, you can choose the delegate you think should win the challenge and automatically get a spot in the finals.

Last April, MUPH also announced the top 3 delegates for the national costume competition, anchoring on the theme "Philippine Flora and Fauna." The top delegates also include Alexie and Jet, alongside Tamara Ocier of Tacloban.

As of this writing, the organization has not yet revealed the top delegates for other challenges, including up-close and personal interviews.

The Miss Universe Philippines coronation night is happening on May 22 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Michelle Dee will crown her successor, who will eventually go on to represent the Philippines at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant in Mexico on Sept. 28.
