Miss World Organization releases official format, running order

Published May 18, 2025 12:41 pm

The Miss World organization has released the official format and running order for the 72nd edition of the international pageant.

The newly released format shows that out of 108 delegates, 10 outstanding contestants from each continental region—Africa, Americas & Caribbean, Asia & Oceania, and Europe, including the fast-track winners—will advance to the Quarter-Finals.

The judges will select a top five contender from each continental region. This set of beauty queens will be narrowed down to the top 2, to have one winner and one runner-up in every region.

To determine the pageant's top four finalists, the top two candidates from each region will compete to have one continental winner, who will also be the top 4 overall finalists. The judges will then vote to crown the 72nd Miss World title holder, followed by first, second, and third runners-up.

The first runner-up in the winner's continent will be promoted to a continental winner.

Krishnah Gravidez, the Philippine bet for the international pageant, made it to the top 8 finalists for Asia and Oceania and top 2 overall in the Badminton Sports Challenge in the recently concluded Miss World Sports Challenge 2025 held at Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad, India.

Estonia's Eliise Randmaa bagged the gold award, securing her place among Europe's Top 10 quarter-finalists at this year's global festival. Martinique's Aurélie Joachim and Canada's Emma Morrison clinched the silver and bronze medals, respectively.

The coronation night will be held on May 31 at the HITEX Convention Center in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, where the reigning queen, Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic, will crown her successor.

Should Gravidez win, she will be the second Filipina to be crowned Miss World after Megan Young in 2013.
