Mexico's Palmira Ruiz wins Miss Eco International 2026
Palmira Ruiz of Mexico is the new Miss Eco International 2026!
Besting a competitive field of over 60 delegates, Ruiz secured the title during the pageant's grand finale in Egypt on Friday, May 22 (May 23 in the Philippines).
For her final question, Ruiz was asked, "In your opinion, what is more powerful: intelligence, courage, or kindness and why?"
"In my opionion, the most powerful quality is kindness because when you have the courage for [changing] lives of the people, you have the responsibility and intelligence for help other people. Because intelligence can open the door, but kindness can open hearts especially when you have the heart for other. Thank you," she answered.
The runners-up include delegates from Ukraine, Australia, Indonesia, and Brazil.
Ruiz received the crown from reigning queen Alexie Brooks, who concluded her successful reign for the Philippines.
In her final speech, Brooks advised her successor, "I hope that you carry this crown with integrity. I hope that you carry the story of every woman who has walked this stage. Know that this is more than just about you—this is for every woman out there, and this is for the environment."
Meanwhile, the Philippines' Gabbi Carballo finished her Miss Eco International journey at Top 21.
During the pageant, she wore a Sierra Madre-inspired national costume, which she said was "deeply personal" to her.
"The Sierra Madre is more than a mountain range. It is the Philippines’ natural shield, silently weakening powerful typhoons before they reach millions of lives," she said, explaining that her costume was a "tribute to nature’s quiet strength."
