Police found the body of a dead man in the trunk of a burned car in Guiguinto, Bulacan.
Per a report by The Philippine STAR, the victim was discovered hogtied in the trunk of an abandoned and torched Mitsubishi Mirage in Barangay Daungan. Police found the body at around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
According to police, the victim was a 29-year-old employee of a financing company.
Two of the four suspects were arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 5, in separate follow-up operations. Ronnie Alcantara was caught in Barangay San Francisco in the municipality of Bulakan, while Ramon Gamba was seized in Barangay San Vicente in Malolos.
Philippine National Police Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez described the murder as a crime of passion. According to him, the victim had an affair with a married woman. Per Central Luzon police director Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, the victim did not know the woman's partner had learned about the affair.
Nartatez said the woman and her partner could have been behind the murder. According to Mendez, the woman invited the victim to meet her in Bulakan, where the suspects allegedly murdered him.
Per investigators, the suspects placed the victim's body in the trunk of the Mirage after killing him, drove to Guiguinto, and burned the vehicle.
Police have not released the identities of the victim and the two other suspects who are at large.
They're now carrying out a manhunt for the woman and her partner.
