Members of PhilHealth YAKAP across all ages can get laboratory tests, including complete blood count, hemoglobin test (HbA1c), creatinine, sputum microscopy, urinalysis, fecalysis, and fecal occult blood test—based on their age, health assessment, and risk factors.
The lipid profile test, fasting blood sugar, oral glucose tolerance test are all covered on an as-applicable basis for individuals from infancy through 39 years old. For individuals aged 40 and up, it becomes highly recommended recommended.
For children between 0 and 9 years of age, a chest X-ray is performed as applicable. But from 10 and up, a chest X-ray is recommended.
An electrocardiogram, while applicable for patients from birth up to 59 years of age, adults aged 60 and above are recommended to get an ECG test.
And finally, pap smear, a medical screening procedure used to detect abnormal cells on the cervix, is not applicable for female kids under 10. It is covered as needed for ages 10 to 39, and recommended for female adults 40 and older, with the option to waive the test.
According to the agency, a doctor at a YAKAP-accredited clinic must assess you and write a request before you can get your free lab work done.
PhilHealth YAKAP was introduced in July 2025. Aside from the common lab tests, it provides access to 75 maintenance and preventive medicines at GAMOT facilities worth P20,000 per year, and coverage of six cancer-screening tests: colonoscopy, mammography, liver ultrasound, breast ultrasound, Alpha-Fetoprotein, and pap smear.
