Former Miss World contestant Sherika De Armas dies at 26
Sherika De Armas, a former contestant for Miss World, has passed away. She was 26.
Her brother Mayk confirmed the news in a social media post, saying, "Fly high, little sister. Always and forever."
In an Instagram carousel, reigning Miss Uruguay Carla Romero also mourned De Armas' passing as she described her as someone who was "too evolved for this world."
"One of the most beautiful women I have ever met in my life," she added.
De Armas represented Uruguay during the Miss World competition in 2015.
"I like everything related to fashion and I think that within a beauty pageant, any girl's dream is to have the opportunity to participate in Miss World. I am very happy to be able to live this experience full of challenges," she said in a previous interview.
De Armas also said she dreamt of becoming a model in advertisements and on the runway.
Aside from fashion, the beauty queen was also a beauty junkie with her own line of makeup and skincare products.
