Here is the 2025 holiday schedule for major banks in the Philippines

Published Dec 19, 2025 6:29 pm

With just days to go before Christmas, the rush is officially on!

If you’re worried about fitting in a bank visit or managing last-minute holiday transactions, you’re not alone.

As the festive rush peaks, anticipate longer lines and heavier crowds at most branches. To save yourself time and stress, plan your visits early or utilize mobile banking apps for basic transfers.

To help you stay ahead of the holiday rush, we’ve rounded up the schedules for major banks in the Philippines:

BDO

Banking at BDO is available on Christmas Eve, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

All branches and loan offices will be closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, with regular operations resuming from Friday, Dec. 26 through Dec. 29.

In observance of Rizal Day on Dec. 30, branches will remain open but on a shortened schedule, operating from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Operations will then pause again for the New Year, as all offices will be closed on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Metrobank

Metrobank has announced extended banking hours until 5 p.m. for select Metro Manila branches.

Additionally, several locations across Metro Manila, North Luzon, and South Luzon will remain open on Saturdays through the early afternoon.

You may check the nearest branch or go to to their website for updated holiday schedule.

Beyond banking hours, clients can use the Metrobank Mobile App and Metrobank Online, 24/7 for fund transfers, bill payments, and other financial transactions.

Bank of the Philippine Islands

All regular branches of BPI will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while branches located in malls or business parks may differ in schedule based on their administration guidelines. Cut-off for check-clearing will be at 2:30 p.m.

You may check the BPI website for schedules on specific banks.

Bank of Commerce

The Bank of Commerce announced that some of their branches will be closed due to December festivities.

On Dec. 19, the Iligan Branch will be closed for Shariff Kabunsuan Day, while on Dec. 29, the San Pedro branch will be closed to commemorate the cityhood anniversary of the area.

Furthermore, the bank said its ATMs and online banking services are still available even during holidays.

Security Bank

Security Bank has announced limited operations for the holiday season, with only a select few branches remaining open on special dates.

On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, the Dipolog branch will be available for a half-day of service from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

For Rizal Day on Dec. 30, clients can visit the Bukidnon-Valencia branch between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., or the Surigao branch from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Finally, on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, the Dipolog branch will once again open for morning transactions from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

All their branches will be closed on Christmas Day, December 25, and New Year's Day, January 1, New Year’s Day.

Because of these limited openings, customers should anticipate longer lines and are encouraged to plan their visits accordingly or use digital banking channels for their holiday needs.
