Actress Angel Locsin and Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa’s photos in Leyte have been a hot topic online as netizens noted how it somehow alluded to Mars Ravelo's Darna masterpiece that Locsin herself also starred in.
The two flew to Leyte to provide aid to the victims of Typhoon Agaton, which has left at least 172 dead and 110 missing, according to the latest data from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
They shared their photos together in their official Facebook pages. Dela Rosa wrote in a post: “Ang Darna at ang Bato nagkasabay mamigay ng tulong sa mga biktima ng Bagyong Agaton sa Abuyog, Leyte.”
Locsin also included a snap with Dela Rosa in a photo album that she captioned with “Kumausap. Makinig. Tao sa tao. Puso sa puso.”
Netizens poked fun at their pictures, referring to the iconic “Ding, ang bato!” phrase that Narda says before she transforms into the Filipino superhero.
“Darna: Ding, ang bato!” a Facebook user wrote.
“Nasa kamay na ni Darna ang bato,” another one said.
Likewise, Internet users praised their being a “good sport” on Facebook and Twitter as they noted their different political views as Locsin is a Kakampink, while Dela Rosa is a UniTeam supporter.
“Magkaiba man ng kandidato, nagkakaisa pa rin para tumulong sa kapwa,” a netizen wrote in the comment thread.
“Ganyan, sa panahon ng sakuna, magkaisa,” added a Facebook user.
