The delectable dish Kare-Kare has made it to global food website TasteAtlas' list of Best Stews in the World.

The Filipino dish ranked 52 out of 100 entries coming from all over the world based on ingredients, rating, and of course, taste. According to TasteAtlas, Kare-Kare received 4.3 stars out of 5. It comes before Hungary's Pörkölt and after France's beef bourguignon.

The Pampanga dish is also the only Filipino stew included in the list.

Made with peanuts, pechay, eggplant, string beans, garlic, black pepper, and more, Kare-Kare has served as a staple dish in Filipino food culture. Shrimp paste, or bagoong, is also served alongside it to add a tangy taste to the savory stew.

TasteAtlas also said that Kare-Kare "is traditionally cooked in a clay cooking pot known as palayok, and the vessel also acts as a serving bowl once the dish is properly cooked. Nowadays, it is often served at numerous Filipino festivities."

In their ingredients list, TasteAtlas also made mention of the "peanut puree" that gives Kare-Kare its distinct and creamy taste

On their website, they also offered a number of local restaurants that serve up the best Kare-Kare, such as Manila's Serye Restaurant and The Aristocrat, Mabalacat's Binulo Restaurant, and more.

Meanwhile, Japan's karē (curry) topped their list as the Best Stew in the World, with its variations including the - karē raisu (curry over rice), karē udon (curry over noodles), and karē -pan (a pastry filled with curry).
