Another photo involving Kate Middleton digitally altered: report

Another royal photo issued by Prince William and Kate Middleton’s office was found to be digitally altered.

Reuters reported that its photo editors analyzed Kensington Palace’s photo of Queen Elizabeth’s would-be 97th birthday released in April 2023.

The photo, taken by Kate, showed the late monarch surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Reuters found that the photo had been “clearly altered” by digital cloning, or copying pixels to either move or mask objects or areas in a photo. The news organization noted that it couldn’t establish why the alterations were made.

Getty Images earlier flagged to its clients that the photo had been "digitally enhanced at source," without giving further details.

Kate stirred controversy after her Mother’s Day photo was found to be digitally altered.

Users noticed some inconsistencies like her daughter Charlotte's hand not lining up with her red jumper sleeve and some of the fingers of her son Louis looking shorter than the others.

News agencies like AFP, The Associated Press, Getty, and Reuters removed the photo from their websites.

Kate eventually admitted that she had edited the photo, saying she “occasionally” experiments with editing “like many amateur photographers.”

She apologized for “any confusion” the edited photo has caused.
