The Land Transportation Office has suspended the license of a jeepney driver whose driving caused a passenger to fall off the vehicle.

A viral video shared on RoadEye PH by Francis Bilbao on June 30 showed a "patok" jeepney reportedly along Aurora Boulevard in Quezon City suddenly swerving to overtake another vehicle.

As the PUV swiftly changed lanes, a passenger sitting near the exit on the left side was thrown off. He was seen rolling on the road as vehicles approached, as the jeepney continued to speed off.

On July 1, the LTO announced that Assec. Markus Lacanilao has issued a show cause order against the jeepney driver and the owner of the vehicle following the incident.

The registered owner or operator may face charges for Employing Reckless, Insolent, Discourteous, or Arrogant Drivers, while the jeepney driver may be charged with Reckless Driving and Duty of Driver in Case of Accident violations.

While cases are being filed, the agency has ordered a 90-day preventative suspension of the jeepney driver's license while the vehicle has been placed under alarm.

If found liable, the driver's license may be suspended or revoked.
