Don't miss this: Instagram sensation 90s Kabaklaan to host an exhibit this Jan. 25

Here is your chance to reminisce about the distinct pop culture and lifestyle of the 90s, as social media sensation 90s Kabaklaan hosts another gallery show that will take you back to your younger days.

Launched during the lockdown, 90s Kabaklaan on Instagram serves up a warm wave of nostalgia through retro pop culture where posts of hunky heartthrobs, old magazine clippings, forgotten gems, and meme-worthy clips from that decade fill this account. The initial goal of this page was for its founder Victor, a magazine collector, to archive his collection. But soon, his page grew into a vibrant community.

Now, over three years since its launch, the page has transitioned into Y2K Kabaklaan, sharing content from the 2000s. But before it officially welcomes that era, it is throwing one last party called "The 90s Kabaklaan Show."

After the success of its Jan. 13 event, the exhibit will have another run set to take place on Jan. 25 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Archivo 1984 Gallery in Makati City, giving fans another chance to relive the 90s via its posters, music, and moving images.

"This is an exhibit more than a show, really, and it's a celebration of '90s Pinoy pop culture through movies, music, and magazines. I hope that everyone will have a good time," Victor told Vogue Philippines.

This exhibit is something not to miss if you're a pop culture junkie. “It’s amazing to witness Archivo Gallery’s collection of movie posters,” he added. “More than anything, it’s our passion and love for the ‘90s and the local scene that brought this show together.”

The event is open to the public and is free of charge.
