Issa Pressman on her and James Reid's critics: 'They will be seeing more of us'
Issa Pressman isn't affected by those who disapprove of her relationship with James Reid.
"Sorry but even if some do not like it, they will be seeing more of us," Issa told entertainment news website PEP.ph on the sidelines of an event of e-commerce platform Lazada.
The model-actress noted that she and James are "inseparable," and that they have a "fun relationship."
"We're really like best friends," she said, "and then we're like workmates also helping each other."
Issa and James sparked dating rumors last March, when they shared photos of each other during Harry Styles' Love on Tour concert in Manila. The photos included a mirror selfie as they held each other's hands.
But their "soft launch" got mixed reactions, as Issa had been accused of being a third party during James's relationship with Nadine Lustre. James and Nadine, or JaDine to fans, announced their breakup in January 2020, though said it actually happened in November 2019.
Days later, James took to Twitter and Instagram Story to address criticisms against Issa, saying past rumors about them "are just that, rumors."
Without explicitly confirming nor denying their relationship, James said he felt the need to speak up "now" because "this is the start of something beautiful,” which he said he won't let anyone take away from him.
“All you need to know from me," he said, "is that [I’m] the happiest I’ve ever been," he said.
Issa appeared in the JaDine movies Para sa Hopeless Romantic and Talk Back and You're Dead. She also appeared in the horror movie Chain Mail and the romance Camp Sawi.
James, meanwhile, is the chief executive officer of entertainment company Careless. He has since launched a music career after joining showbiz.
