How to register for COVID-19 vaccination in NCR

Vaccination drives have begun in different areas of the National Capital Region.

As more and more COVID-19 vaccine doses arrive in the Philippines, local government units in the metro are making use of online registration sites for a smooth inoculation process. Among those who will get the vaccines first, as per the Department of Health, are frontline health workers, senior citizens, indigent population, and uniformed personnel.

“With the initial limited supply, frontline health workers and uniformed personnel are prioritized since they have higher risk of exposure while on duty and to allow them to continue fulfilling their duties in both the public and private sectors,” said the DOH.

“Vulnerable groups such as the elderly and the indigent population are prioritized guided by the principle of equity,” the agency added. It’s important to note, however, that the government “is continuing negotiations to ensure adequate vaccine supply for all Filipinos, including those not in the priority groups.”

While getting the shot is not mandatory, the DOH highly encourages Filipinos to do so. Here’s a list of registration links for those who are looking to get the COVID-19 vaccine, as provided to PhilSTAR L!FE by Carlos Joshua Lazaro of the DOH’s Media Relations Unit. At present, healthcare workers (A1), senior citizens (A2), and people with comorbidities (A3) are being simultaneously vaccinated against the virus.

The Food and Drug Administration has also approved the vaccination of seniors using Sinovac, following the Vaccine Experts Panel's recommendation. "Vaccination should be preceded by an evaluation of the person’s health status and exposure risk to assure that benefits of vaccination outweigh risks," said FDA Director-General Eric Domingo. Initially, it was only recommended for "clinically healthy" individuals aged between 18 and 59.

While waiting for your turn to be inoculated, the DOH is urging Filipinos to be more vigilant in terms of the information they find. “Let us make it a habit to fact check and verify with reliable sources (DOH Facebook page, DOH website, WHO website, PIA website) regarding new information,” it stated in its official website. “Continue observing the minimum public health standards to prevent further transmission of the virus.”
