The family of the slain policewoman has withdrawn their criminal complaint against her husband, John Mollenido.

According to a report by Pilipino STAR Ngayon, Quezon City Police District Director PCol. Randy Glenn Silvio confirmed that Police Senior Master Sergeant Diane Marie Mollenido's sister, Daisie Gabres, filed the motion to withdraw the case.

Silvio, however, noted that police would continue the investigation despite the recent development.

"But continuous ‘yong investigation and case build-up kasi meron pa tayong gustong malaman at meron pa tayong mga gagawing hakbang,” Silvo said, adding that Mollenido’s electronic devices will be examined through a cyber warrant.

On Feb. 3, DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla said the murder case of the policewoman, whose son John Ysmael was also later killed, has been considered closed as the suspects behind it have been identified. These include Pia Katrina Panganiban, Christian Suarez Panganiban, Maribel Suarez Panganiban, and Gil Valdemoro Dy Jr., who allegedly served as their accomplice.

The mother and son were last seen on Jan. 16, when they were reportedly going to Novaliches to see her godchild.

When the two did not return home, Mollenido and his siblings reported them missing to authorities on Jan. 19.

Diane's body was found in a creek along Pulilan-Baliuag Bypass Road on Jan. 24. She had a gunshot wound on her left ear.

Her son was found dead in a calamansi farm in Tarlac more than a week later. Autopsy results showed that he died of asphyxia by suffocation, according to Central Luzon Police.

A car transaction is said to be the motive for their killing.
