Hearts for art with the Asian Cultural Council
Leon Gallery and the Asian Cultural Council Philippines Foundation Inc. marked Valentine’s Day with a resounding celebration of creativity as they successfully launched the Asian Cultural Council Auction 2025, drawing art patrons and cultural advocates alike.
Now in its 11th year, this annual benefit auction has become a cornerstone in advancing the creative virtuosity of Filipino artists and encouraging them to engage with global platforms. The enduring partnership between Leon Gallery and ACC Philippines has produced more than 40 grantees across diverse fields, including painting, sculpture, music, dance, theatre, art criticism, art conservation, and museology—fostering meaningful cultural dialogue across borders.
ACC Philippines chairman Ernest L. Escaler shared that both institutions “have stood side by side in a shared vision—to champion the arts as a force that transcends borders, sparks dialogue, and shapes cultural leadership.”
Meanwhile, Leon Gallery director Jaime Ponce de Leon emphasized that this year’s edition celebrates over a decade of collaboration, highlighting remarkable artistic partnerships and the collective spirit behind the auction.
A portion of the proceeds funds ACC grants for Filipino and other Asian artists, reinforcing the auction’s mission. Fittingly launched on a day of love, the event affirmed that supporting the arts remains one of the most enduring expressions of cultural goodwill and shared passion.
