Filipino actor Kennedy Nakar passes away at 24
Pinoy actor Kennedy Nakar, who starred in BL series Lakan, has died. He was 24.
His partner Paul Cervantes confirmed his death on Facebook with a video from Kennedy’s wake on July 26. “Sana happy ka dyan na pinapanood mo kami. Mahal na mahal ka namin, sobra! Hinding hindi ka namin makakalimutan,” he captioned his post.
Kennedy passed away due to complications from leukemia.
On June 23, he revealed in a Facebook post that he got diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, “a very rare but an aggressive one.”
“My hematologist doctor said chemotherapy is the only way to treat this and must be done as soon as possible,” he said at the time.
According to the National Cancer Institute, acute myeloid leukemia is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. This form of cancer "usually gets worse quickly if it is not treated."
The local star was admitted to the hospital on June 3 and passed away on July 25 in the afternoon.
Kennedy is best known for his role in Lakan, where he co-starred with Paul. The two, who were together for almost four years, also had a YouTube channel dubbed PaulKen TV.
Rest in peace, Kennedy.
