BPI app to shut down e-wallet loading feature for GCash, Maya starting Feb. 13
Heads up, BPI app users!
Bank of the Philippine Islands is halting its e-wallet loading service on its mobile banking app for GCash and Maya.
In an advisory posted on its official website, BPI said you would have to load your GCash and Maya accounts through Instapay and PESOnet interbank funds transfer facility starting Thursday, Feb. 13.
You can use the "Transfer to other banks" feature on the app to load GCash (G-Xchange/GCash) and Maya (Maya Philippines Inc/Maya Wallet).
You will be charged P25 for bank transfers.
BPI said the move was made "to align with the National Retail Payment System Framework established by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) via BSP Circular 980 and Philippine Payments Management, Inc. (PPMI) Advisory No. 2024-1104-020."
