LIVE UPDATES: Binibining Pilipinas 2022 coronation night

The Binibining Pilipinas 2022 pageant has crowned the queens who will represent the Philippines in the Miss International, Miss Globe, Miss Intercontinental, and Miss Grand International competitions. 

Cebu’s Nicole Borromeo was named Bb. Pilipinas Miss International, Tacloban City’s Chelsea Fernandez is Bb. Pilipinas Miss Globe, Borongan, Eastern Samar’s Gabrielle Basiano is Bb. Pilipinas Miss Intercontinental, and last but not the least, San Pablo, Laguna’s Roberta Angela Tamondong was crowned Bb. Pilipinas Miss Grand International.

The winners were crowned by the previous Binibining Pilipinas 2021 titleholders, Hannah Arnold (Miss International), Samantha Panlilio (Miss Grand International), Cinderella Obenita (Miss Intercontinental), and Maureen Montagne (Miss Globe).

Meanwhile, Angono Rizal’s Nicole Budol ended as first runner-up while Cainta, Rizal’s Stacey Daniella B. Gabriel ended as second runner-up.

TV host and Binibining Pilipinas candidate Nicole Budol has notched six recognitions at the second special awards portion of the pageant. 

Budol, who represents the municipality of Angono in Rizal, is going home as Binibining Pilipinas Shein, Pizza Hut, Kumu, Silka, World Balance, and Jag Queen 

Next to Budol in racking up the most awards is Binibini #28 Gabrielle Biasano, who was awarded Best in Swimsuit and Best in Long Gown. 

Other candidates taking home special awards are Iloilo’s Karen Laurrie Mendoza, who was hailed Bb. Moist Diane Shampoo, and Tacloban’s Chelsea Fernandez as Bb. Ever Bilena

The Binibining Pilipinas Top 12 has showcased intelligence and wit in the question-and-answer portion of the pageant.

The questions, which were asked by judges including Joshua Garcia, Jane De Leon, and Precious Lara Quigaman, aimed to bring out the delegates' inner beauty and social awareness.

The Top 12 Bb. Pilipinas 2022 contestants dazzled the coronation night as they donned gorgeous gowns during the pageant’s evening gown portion held at the Araneta Coliseum.

As they walked the stage, the contestants shared the inspiration of their gowns in voiceovers while Zild Benitez’s 2021 ballad, Ibang Planeta dreamily played in the background.

The competition will next announce the Top 6 queens that will make it to the next leg of the pageant.

It’s time for the hottest part of the night as the remaining top 12 candidates of the Binibining Pilipinas 2022 pageant captivated fans in the swimsuit competition.

The candidates flaunted their bewitching physiques in white two-piece swimsuits and pink robes designed by Justine Aliman while Maymay Entrata performed her hit song "Amakabogera."

As the candidates fired up the stage, fun facts about them were shared by the hosts.

From 40 contestants to the lucky 12. Here are the final 12 queens moving forward to the 2022 Bb. Pilipinas competition.

After being called by hosts, they each answered what they hope for the country in the next six years.

The Top 12 queens will be vying for the four main crowns of the competition, namely Bb. Pilipinas International, Bb. Pilipinas Grand International, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental, and Bb. Pilipinas Globe. The second runner-up and first-up will also be up for grabs.

Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. has named the six candidates taking home the pageant's special awards and a slew of prizes from sponsors.

The list is as follows:

• Binibining Talent - Ma. Isabela David of Mexico, Pampanga
• Face of Binibini - Yllana Aduana of Laguna
• Binibining Friendship - Eiffel Rosalita of Catanduanes
• Bb. Philippine Airlines - Angela Tamandong of San Pablo, Laguna
• Manila Bulletin Reader's Choice Award - Nicole Budol of Angono Rizal

Binibining Pilipinas 2022 has begun with a groovy performance from P-pop sensation SB19. The group, composed of Justin, Stell, Pablo, Felip, and Josh, lit up the stage while singing the pageant’s theme song “Win Your Heart”

After the group's performance, the 40 Binibining Pilipinas 2022 candidates introduced themselves to the roaring crowd in Araneta Coliseum.

Adding to the hype are Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Binibining Pilipinas Miss Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves, who welcomed the audience to the 58^th edition of the pageant.
