QC testing new parking system in Tomas Morato, Timog

Published Mar 24, 2026 11:06 am

Heads up, motorists!

The Quezon City government has begun testing a new parking system in the stretches of Tomas Morato and Timog Ave.

Under the regulations, which were implemented on March 23, motorists can park for free at public parking areas for three hours only.

After this, drivers must move their car to another parking spot. If they fail to do so, they'll get a violation, which must be settled at the QC Transport and Traffic Management Department (TTMD) main office at the DPOS Building in the Quezon City Hall Compound.

When motorists park, they will receive a ticket from parking attendants of the QC TTMD. The document will indicate their time of entry and when they're expected to vacate the parking spots.

These officials are not allowed to ask for a parking fee.

Note that these public parking spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

This pilot program will run until the passage of the Public Pay Parking Ordinance, which will institutionalize a regulated parking system in the Tomas Morato and Timog area.

This initiative falls under the QC ReVibe program, which aims to improve commercial areas by creating safer walkways and more accessible public spaces.

"As we improve and beautify our commercial areas, we must also ensure that public spaces are used fairly and efficiently. This parking system is about creating order, improving access, and making our streets work better for everyone,” QC mayor Joy Belmonte said about the implementation.
