Here comes that wonderful time of the year for the grandest food expos beaming with holiday fiesta feel. It’s time again to unleash one’s inner connoisseur. And it’s not just for foodies—there’s so much more for those business-minded food lovers who want to unlock B2B opportunities.

And because there’s still a pandemic hovering on everyone’s head, here’s a little twist—the expos are purely online. One of the much-awaited exhibitions is the BUYanihan Resellers’ Virtual Trade Expo 2020 on December 5 to 7. It’s ready to serve an exciting adventure to entrepreneurs, online sellers, community-based marketers, and people looking for business opportunities in food trade and other industries.

The three-day virtual summit will feature reseller-ready products and disruptive business concepts. Aside from expanding the reseller network, it will also allow representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to answer questions on business registration and other government services.

Get inspired by stories of local food businesses, and see if their products and business styles are the ones you’ve been looking for. Here are some of the hot sellers to look forward to:

True Blends

From the grounds of Ateneo in 2009, True Blends has been expanding around the Metro as it aspires to be a globally competitive refreshment company. It serves top-of-the-line coffee classics and a wide range of mixed drinks, including the revered milk tea, green tea, Yakult and Cheese Cloud series, and hearty meals (price range: P45-P180). True Blends’ owner, Joyce Co-Yu, started the business after attending an expo. Sounds serendipitous? True Blends’ Kapit-Pinoy Franchise Package is available at P88,000.

Lot’s A Pizza

SImilarly, this famous pizza parlor also began in a school—San Beda College—at a time when hamburgers were the food trend. The owner, Tess Ngan Tian, flew to the US to take up a pizza technology course at the prestigious American Institute of Baking in Kansas City. Now, the Filipino pizza brand has hundreds of outlets nationwide and continues to be a franchise awardee. (Price range: P44-P344)

Rite Tea

In a world filled with milk tea shops everywhere you go, how do you differentiate? For Rite Tea, it’s by offering fast, convenient, affordable and honestly healthy milk tea drink, whose raw materials come from Taiwan, the Milk Tea Capital of the World. The shop infuses fresh tea leaves and, instead of non-dairy creamer, uses fresh milk to deliver guilt-free goodness in every sip. The 35-branch-strong company just celebrated its second anniversary this month. (Price range: P55-P65)

From a humble mobile food cart close to the hearts of Lasallian students, Ate Rica’s is now embraced by many foodies and mall patrons because of its unforgettable bacsi and special cheese sauce (price range: P74-P99).
