American fashion designer Alexander Wang has denied claims of sexual assault against him, calling the allegations as “false” and “fabricated.”

“(T)hese baseless allegations were started on social media by sites which repeatedly disregarded the value and importance of evidence or fact checking,” Wang said in a statement on his Instagram page.

“(M)y team is doing everything in its power to investigate these claims and I promise to remain honest and transparent throughout that process. I am fortunate to have received an overwhelming amount of support over the last few days and am thankful to those standing by my side at this time,” added Wang.

Wang’s statement follows a similar denial he made to the New York Times following a string of allegations recently set off by a claim of a male model that he was groped by the designer.

“Over the last few days, I have been on the receiving end of baseless and grotesquely false accusations,” Wang said in a statement to the New York Times.

The issue started with a TikTok video where a certain model narrated how he was groped in a New York City club in 2017. The model, named Owen Mooney, did not disclose the identity of the "really famous fashion designer" but released another TikTok video shortly after naming Wang after a comment on the first video named the designer.

After Mooney's revelation, the Instagram page shitmodelmgmt put up a post calling Wang an "alleged sexual predator" and posting screenshots of other similar encounters.

After Wang's statement on Instagram, the page again posted a statement of Mooney standing pat on his allegation against the designer saying the "silence of the fashion industry and Hollywood in general is quite deafening"
