A cruise worker on the Royal Caribbean was arrested after he was found to have allegedly been spying on young girls by hiding hidden cameras in guests' bathrooms.

The detained employee was Arvin Joseph Mirasol, a Filipino citizen, who cleaned, replaced towels, and made beds on the Symphony of the Seas.

According to the probable cause affidavit obtained by NBC News stated that a guest, who was staying with her sister and mother, found a hidden camera "affixed to the counter underneath the sink."

When the ship docked, law enforcement investigated Mirasol's devices including his phone, USB drive, camera, and SD card, and found child pornography. A video also caught the cruise employee installing a camera in a guest's bathroom, which he later admitted to doing.

"Mirasol revealed that he has been placing these cameras in the bathroom since he started working on Symphony of the Seas around December 2023," an affidavit filed in the Southern District of Florida read.

Mirasol has been charged with six counts of voyeurism in Broward County and with the production and possession of child pornography in the US District Court of Florida.

"We have zero tolerance for this unacceptable behavior," the Royal Caribbean told USA TODAY in a statement. "We immediately reported this to law enforcement and terminated the crew member, and we will continue to fully cooperate with authorities."

The former crew member is detained in Broward County Jail and is set for arraignment on March 18.
